What follows is an entertaining journey, mystery, adventure that brings Chloe in contact with many people she had not known in her four years there after coming out from SoCal with her Moms.The majority of the book is clever and entertaining, but until the last quarter there is not much heart. After not 100% loving the last book (an adult romance) by this author (I liked it just didn’t love it how I thought I would), I was nervous going into a YA book written by them. I thought the premise sounded cute and I figured I would at least enjoy it, but in the end I freaking loved this book. I was pretty much hooked from the first page, and I loved guessing right along with the (many) cast of characters where the heck Shara was. This book is set in a small religious town in Alabama, where Chloe is the only person “out” at her Christian academy high school, and is the daughter of two women. I loved all of representation (we get a cast full of bisexual, Trans and non binary characters). I can’t speak for how the representation of those characters was done, and would suggest seeking out reviewers in the community for a more in depth review. This was a really quick read; it was a little bit mystery and a little bit romcom funny. I loved Chloe as a MC, she is someone I would have loved to have as a friend in HS.-Reese

It is ok. I just feel I have read it before, about 20 times. In fact I have it all so confused in my head now with other similar stories that I don’t know if I can trust myself to review it fairly. Some of the scenes felt unnecessary, and a little uneven, leaving less time for Janet and Xavier to bond.
We have Janet, a rich bombshell coming out of a bad relationship who is set up on a blind date and meets Xavier, a sexy hunky who is also highly successful and coming out a bad relationship. They have this in common along with obvious love for similar music. There is a wealth of musical references and evil passages where characters sing random songs in dialogue. Anyhow, I can understand the attraction between the characters but would have rather seen their relationship evolve, but the story ends when they officially decide to get together.
It is not a bad short read as it held my attention and kept me turning pages, but I didn’t feel the passion or have enough time to truly fall into the characters. Still, it’s written well and fun.-Janie

Welcome, in today’s tutorial, we will learn how to restore and recover your crashed WordPress website. When your website crashes due to a WordPress update that went bad, you will see an error log on this screen as much as this one shown below. The error log will read: “Fatal Error: Uncaught Error, Call to undefine function…” will be written in the error log
This type of error is mostly caused by corrupt WordPress update
We do come to this dead-end when we are trying to do an automatic WordPress update and it went wrong, thereby corrupting most of the WordPress files and the website breaking or going down to both the visitors (front end) and the admin back end view sides. Don’t worry, we will take the time to solve this problem and recover your crashed website in no time. Just ensure you read until the end.
Fatal Error: Uncaught Error, Call to undefine
As much as this is a pain in the a*s or a sore sight to see in any website. It can also help you to trace your problem. Not always though. Looking at the picture below as a case study, we can trace that some of the error is emanating from wp_config folder.

As stated earlier, this is a result of a WordPress update that went wrong and thereby corrupted the WordPress folder. The following steps below explains it.
Login to your cPanel dashboard. Since the WordPress backend dashboard can’t be accessed due to this crash. The other option is work with the cPanel. Once you have logged into the cPanel dashboard, take your time to look around. and do the next step.
Step 2: Locate Your Public_html Folder
locate the public_html folder on the left hand side of the cPanel
Click on files and locate your public_html folder under the left hand side of the list of folders available. click on this and it will open up a lot of other folders on the right hand side view. The main folders to watch out for is the “wp-admin” folder, the “wp-content” folder and the “wp-includes” folder.
Step 3: Deactivate your Plugins
Deactivate the plugins. Go to the wp-content folder and open it by double clicking on it. There is other folders inside but our focus is the plugins folder. We will rename this folder to plugins_old
This would deactivate all the plugins found and used in your WordPress website.
Step 4: Create a New Folder

Create a new folder and call it any name you want. This folder would be used to house all the files and folders that are not needed in the WordPress folder. The whole idea is to manually update the WordPress folder.
Step 5: Move All Your Files and Folders

Highlight all the folders and files in the public_html folder exlcluding the wp-content folder. Ten locate the move button button above and click this. The pop-up would request you type the folder destination. Just enter the name of the folder you just created. In out own case, this is the temp_folder. This would then move all the files and folders into this temp_folder.
Step 6: Download WordPress Unto Your Local PC
download WordPress to your PC
Go to the WordPress website and download the latest version on WordPress. This usually come in the zip format. You will need something like 7zip to unzip. Once this was down, you shoud be able to see your WordPress folder. This when opened, you should be able to see all the recent folders just like the ones that were in the public_html folder when you opened it. Perfect.
Step 7: Transfer This folder to Your cPanel using FTP

Using an File Transfer Protocol like Filezilla, you can open a port and transfer these folders into your public_html folder. Just input your username of of your cPanel into the hostname, the host is the cPanel address, the password is the password of your cPanel. The port is usually 21 or you can leave this empty. After inputting all of this, click on autoconnnect and watch the local host connect with the cPanel.

Wait until this process has been completed. The transfer may take long depending on your internet speed and PC processor speed.
Step 8: Rename Your Plugin Folder back to Normal Plugin

Change the name of the plugin folder from plugins_old to plugins. this would automatically activate the plugins back to active state.

Step 9: Refresh Your Website
On refreshing the webpage, the error signs are now reduced
Now when are done transferring the files, we will see that the error status has actually reduced a lot . Although, the goal is to restore and recover your crashed website, We are one step away from achieving that. this is good news. Now we are very close.
Studying the error calls it seems the error is addressing to the Wordfence plugin installed. This is because we have have activated all plugins back to functionality.
Removing all Traces of Wordfence Plugin from cPanel
Step 1: Go to the php Tree
Locate the phpMyAdmin on the cPanel
In order to restore and recover your crashed website, you need to delete all instances of Wordfence plugin phpMyAdmin database. To do this, go to the cPanel dashboard, click on phpMyAdmin as shown above. It will open a new tab in which you can select Database. You should be able to see your cPanel username in the left-hand pane.

Step 2: Identify and all that .wf extension tree in the DB

Click on the left pane with your username. This will pop up the DB structures, and then you cn see all the plugin trees. locate the tree with _wf extensions. Click on each of these individually and drop them on the right hand side as highlighted, and once this is done, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Delete the Wordfence Folder in the Plugin Folder
Head over to the wp-content folder and double click on the plugins folder. Down the line, you will find the Wordfence folder. Delete this folder.
Step 4: Delete Wordfence Code Lines in Hidden File

Based on the error shown in the image earlier, the error came from the files user.ini and wordfence-waf.php . What we will do is to search for these files on the cPanel search. After we have enabled the show hidden file option as shown above. This would then show us the file.

Double click on this file and open with UTF-8 encoding. The go and locate the code line that reads auto_prepend_file = ‘/home2/xxxx/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’. Once located, comment out this line of code by placing a # in front of it as shown below. Save the changes and move to the next step of restoring and recovering your crashed website.

Next the other file wordfence-waf.php, do the same search for this on the search box, and open it like the first one. Locate the line of code that read php_value auto_prepend_file = /home2/xxxx/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’ and comment out the lines of code there.

Save the changes made on these two files and then go back to your website and refresh it again.
On refreshing, this error disappears and we have control of our WordPress backend dashboard again. As shown below.

Finally, you have learnt how to Restore and Recover Your Crashed Website with these few steps. Bravo! Just a couple of more things to tidy up. Remember the plugins were all deactivated and removed earlier, when you click on the plugins, there will be no plugins to show.
Head back to cPanel and change the name back to plugins and save it and refresh the page of your WordPress Dashboard and all your plugins will reappear, with the exception of the Wordfence plugin because it has been deleted. You can install this plugin again if you need it.

In today’s post, we will design an IoT light bulb that can be remotely controlled from anywhere in the world. This project would convert an electrical A.C. light bulb to a smart bulb step by step using the ESP32 CAM, Arduino and Blynk app. After reading this tutorial post, you will learn how to control an AC light bulb via the Internet of Things (IoT) using the Blynk app and ESP32-CAM WiFi Development Board. Make sure you read all the way through to the end to fully comprehend it.
Materials and Components Needed for this project.
For this project we are going to be needing the following modules/components:

The circuit diagram shown above used the TIP41C NPN transistor to form a common emitter follower configuration. The 5V solid state relay is turned on and off without a based transistor since the ESP32-CAM dev board has a maximum out put voltage of 3.3V.
Two LEDs were connected in the circuit to show a blink without delay and also to visualize when the 5V relay is turned on and off from the Blynk app. These were tested without no current limiting resistors and they worked just fine. The PCB socket was used to connected the electrical wire plug. All Neutral lines were connected together. While the live line was controlled by the 5V solid state relay output. This is shown in the second breadboard schematic below.
The circuit diagram above works but we recommend using a method to control the 5V solid state relay to be in a two stable states, either ON or OFF; a transistor logic level inverter be created. This comprised of two 220kΩ resistor and a 10kΩ resistor configured around an NPN transistor. The setup of this logic level shifter is to convert the 3.3V HIGH on the ESP32 CAM GPIO pin to 0V and the 0V LOW to 5V.
This was noticed practically that when switching DC voltage using the 5V solid state relay, the HIGH voltage won’t be enough when using boards like ESP32, ESP32 CAM, ESP8266, Raspberry pi etc. To know more about the calculations used for this simple logic level shifter follow this link.

The Breadboard Setup

The ESP32-CAM development (dev) board was placed on the breadboard so that it can control the TIP41C NPN transistor through the base resistor 10kΩ. We attached the dev board to the breadboard and used the preformed jumper wires to finish off the rest of the connection between the transistor and the 5V solid state relay.

The 5V power needed for this bread setup was drawn from the programming CH340 adapter. The 5V of the ESP32-CAM is connected to the Vcc pin on the CH340 adapter; this is how the ESP32 Cam is connected. The emitter of the Transistor must have a common ground (GND) with the ESP32 Cam.
CAUTIONS
When working with alternating current (AC) voltages, care must be taken to avoid electric shocks. The best way to control the flow of AC voltage through the socket outlet is to use the PCB socket header and terminate the wires carefully.
Step 1:

Strip off/Peel off the insulation AC wire terminals to expose the Live and Neutral wires to source the AC voltage to the PCB header. Screw and terminate these AC cables to the PCB header socket and ensure they are tight and firm.
Step 2:
Open the lamp holder cover and safely attach the Live and Neutral cable. Ensure they are tight and firm.
Step 3:
Use the 5V solid state relay to interrupt the AC Live (L) wire. This is shown in the schematic and breadboard diagram above. The remote control would talk to the ESP32-CAM development board and it will talk to the 5V solid state relay and tell it when it should turn on the AC bulb.
Step 4:
Connect the rest of the wires to the 5V solid state relay as shown in the circuit diagram above, ensuring that all the Neutral lines (wires) are connected together.
Step 5:
Use insulation tape to insulate and isolate all exposed AC voltage wires joined together. This will reduce the electric shock when the system is powered.
Setting Up the Blynk Control.
Step 1: Download the Blynk app

Open the respective app store for your device and find Blynk legacy. Please get the Blynk legacy version because that was used for this project. If you are unable to use this version, please leave a comment in the section below so that we can tell you how to use the most recent version of the Blynk IoT app for this IoT light bulb – Remote Control Light Bulb Blynk App project.
Step 2: Installing the Blynk app

We installed the app on our android or iPhone device as shown in the picture above.
Step 3: Create New project
After successful installation, we signed up or signed since we already have an account and click on New Project as shown below.
Step 4: Pick a name for your new Project
Enter the name of the project
After setting the name of the project, we selected our device type, and clicked create.
Step 5: Retrieve the token for IoT light Bulb – Remote Control Light Bulb Project
We went to our mailbox or alternatively our Blynk dashboard to copy the token. This would be used in the Arduino code later.
Step 6: Create our GUI design

We clicked on the add button on the upper right side and add the button widget. Configure this button widget by clicking on it and selecting where the virtual pin is selected.
This was saved and it was done.
Programming the ESP32-CAM.
We removed the ESP32-CAM from the breadboard and placed it onto the ESP32-Cam programmer adapter. We connected the USB flex to the port of the programmer. The programmer used a type B USB flex to its USB programmer as shown here below. This was connected this cable to our PC, the power LED on the programmer came on. We opened the Arduino IDE and copied the code below and compiled it successfully.

Arduino Source code (sketch) Explanation.
The Arduino sketch given above began with including the various libraries from Blynk and WiFi connectivity; The Authentication Key was inserted from the email sent by Blynk after creating the project; so was the Internet WiFi USSID and Password too from an existing network with good internet access.
Once these are all set, we select our port number, select AI thinker ESP32-Cam as the development board then upload code.
Testing the Final Setup for IoT light Bulb – Remote Control Light Bulb Project.
With the complete setup done, we have the following testing results as shown here.
The button on the phone would allow us to turn the AC light bulb into a smart AC light bulb. We can turn it on and off remotely from anywhere around the globe.
Once we are connected to the internet, the setup works nicely; as expected!

I loved this book. I’ve been saying it a lot this year, but it feels like the right book at exactly the right time. Building a Second Brain helps you do what it says in the title; build systems and offload cognitive load to free you up for creative thinking where humans truly excel. There are a lot of books about task tracking and notetaking, but few pull it all together with helpful frameworks to the extent that this one does.

Recently at Pulsar Fusion, a team of engineers has conducted a ground test of its plastic-waste-powered rocket engine which was heald at the UK’s Ministry of Defence military base in Salisbury. There was a YouTube video released by the team about the progress of the test. The company, Pulsar Fusion, is a U.K.-based company established to focus on the use of nuclear fusion as a power source, both for producing electricity and pushing rockets through space. The company had set out some goals of developing and deploying a nuclear fusion rocket engine by the year 2025. A world record that could send a rocket to Mars in half the time of the rockets that uses current technology. However, recently, the company has set her eyes on developing a rocket engine powered by plastic waste.
When interviewed by the press, Pulsar officials called their project a “green” rocket. Since it used a hybrid fuel made by mixing polyethylene with a nitrous oxide oxidizer. When this chemical product is fed into the combustion chamber, it is held under pressure until it is fired. This type of plastic was abundant and inexpensive, making it ideal to be used as rocket fuel. During the test, the rocket engine produced more than just thrust; it also created shock diamonds, which are commonly produced with other types of high-temperature rocket firings.
Conclusion
The idea of using plastic chemical composition as rocket fuel, as adopted by Pulsar, is an ingenious one that would go a long way toward revolutionizing the space industry. We hope the company keeps pushing the limits like this and comes up with other amazing developments. Indeed, designing and manufacturing rocket engine powered by plastic waste is an encouraging step forward in the pursuit of scientific discoveries.

This is yet another book on how to keep ever-more-powerful AI beneficial for humanity. Although it carefully and eloquently discusses many important issues, it is disappointingly lacking in concrete suggestions for what to do and not do. Instead, it’s main suggestion seems to be “just put people like us in charge and trust us – and we’ll figure it out for the rest of you”. Indeed, a key message at the end of the book is that the US should grant great power to a new national AI commission containing people just like Kissinger, Schmidt and Huttenlocher, “from the highest levels of government, business and academia”.
This is a book review rather than political commentary, so it is up to the reader rather than me to assess the wisdom of letting leaders from Google and Facebook shape our AI legislation. However, from a purely literary point of view, the irony is jarring when the book discusses the risks of big tech undermining democracy and working ever closer with government. Here is a brief summary of the book.

I quote these two passages from the book, which are spot on:
. “AI does not possess what we call common sense…” (p. 69)
2. “Associations between aspects of inputs and outputs based on supervised or reinforcement learning are very different from human understanding… This brittleness is also a reflection of AI’s lack of self-awareness. An AI is not sentient. It does not know what it does not know.” (p. 69).
To make these abstractions more concrete, I add this horrific example of Artificial Stupidity. Engineers at Boeing created software algorithms to help prevent the new 737 MAX from stalling during flight by automatically pointing the nose down. The software was needed to counteract the tendency of the MAX aircraft’s nose to pitch upwards during certain conditions, due to more powerful jet engines. Pilots at that time did not know about the MCAS software, nor about its dependency on a single external input. If that indicator sent false signals about the angle of attack, and the MCAS software did not know about the faulty data, it did what it was designed to do—point the plane’s nose downward. This was catastrophic in two cases, resulting in crashes that killed 346 human beings
