I enjoyed this book. Garrett is a funny mix of shy in everyday situations, and yet bossy and dominant in the bedroom. He starts the book intimidated by Jennie who can be bossy and she is also off-limits as the younger sister of his friend and team captain Carter.
The book is long and slow paced. Garrett & Jennie are attracted to each other and start a friends with benefits situation. They decide to be exclusive but secret.
Jennie doesn’t want to have sex but they spend a long time enjoying organising without sex and their friendship grows.
Garrett is funny, easily embarrassed and awkward and yet they keep swapping roles between who is shy and who is dominant. It makes for an intriguing relationship.
Slowly we find out what happened to Jennie to make her so scared of sex and relationships. She hasn’t missed out on fun though and makes a comment about a boyfriend being a downgrade from her reliable vibrator collection! I like that self-pleasure and toys plays a big part in this book and is seen as a positive choice. It was a good choice for Jennie for a long time but Garrett is definitely an upgrade!! He is so sweet and caring 💗.-LouB

Oh. My. Goodness! Garrett Anderson stole my heart. He is shy outside the bedroom, stumbles over his words and loses his train of thought but inside the bedroom…watch out, this man has all of the confidence. Jennie is very confident outside the bedroom but she lacks confidence inside the bedroom because of an incident that happened years ago.

This book had me feeling all of the emotions:I was laughing till I cried, I was crying, I was frustrated, I was happy, and I LOVED every second of reading this book!

Garrett is a NHL player and he has a secret that he is obsessed with his captains little sister, Jennie. Every time she is around he can’t form a single sane sentence. When Jennie moves into Garrett’s apartment building, his captain asks that he watch after Jennie. These two form such a genuine, loving, funny friendship. They become best friends. Garrett is so sweet to her, the things he will do for her make me swoon!-Britnee Taylor
