Summary
In an original world reminiscent of Edwardian England in the shadow of a World War, cabals of noble families use their unique magical gifts to control the fates of nations, while one young man seeks only to live a life of his own.

Conclusion
The investigation leads Miles to uncover a dark secret about the city of Kingston and its history of witch hunts. He also comes to terms with his own powers and his place in the world. In the end, Miles is able to solve the mystery and bring the killer to justice. He also finds love and acceptance with Anya and Theoden.
