Wild Blood by Nancy Collins PDF Novel Review

Wild Blood: A Novel by Nancy A. Collins is a supernatural thriller that follows the journey of Skinner Cade, a young man who discovers his true identity as a werewolf after a brutal attack. Skinner, whose real name is Skinwalker, is the last of his kind, a powerful shapeshifter who can control his transformations. He joins a pack of fellow vargr, members of a death metal band with twisted appetites, and becomes their alpha after a violent showdown. However, Skinner soon realizes that he is destined for something greater, and that he must face his own humanity and the dark forces that threaten his existence.

The novel is a fast-paced and action-packed story that explores the themes of identity, belonging, and destiny. Collins creates a vivid and original world of the Pretending Races, creatures from myth and legend that hide among humans and prey on them. She also portrays the werewolf culture and mythology with rich detail and imagination, blending Native American folklore and modern urban fantasy. The characters are complex and intriguing, especially Skinner, who struggles with his dual nature and his role in the prophesy that could change the world.

The novel is not for the faint of heart, as it contains graphic scenes of violence, gore, and sex. Collins does not shy away from depicting the brutality and savagery of the werewolf lifestyle, as well as the twisted and perverse desires of some of the characters. The novel is also full of dark humor and witty dialogue, adding some levity to the grim and gritty atmosphere. The novel is a gripping and entertaining read that will appeal to fans of horror, werewolves, and urban fantasy.

Wild Blood: A Novel by Nancy A. Collins is a well-written and original novel that offers a fresh and exciting take on the werewolf genre. It is a thrilling and satisfying read that will keep you hooked until the end. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
