About The Author

Tasha Suri is a British fantasy author and a former academic librarian. She was born in Harrow, London, to Punjabi parents, and she often visited India during her childhood. She studied English and Creative Writing at Warwick University, and now lives in London with her family, a cat, and two rabbits.

She is the author of The Books of Ambha duology, which consists of Empire of Sand and Realm of Ash. These books are inspired by Mughal India and explore themes of identity, culture, and power. She is also the author of The Burning Kingdoms trilogy, which begins with The Jasmine Throne. This series is set in a world influenced by ancient India, and follows the story of two women who join forces to overthrow a tyrant king. Her latest book is What Souls Are Made Of, a young adult novel that is a remix of Wuthering Heights.

She has won several awards for her writing, including the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 2022 for The Jasmine Throne, and the Best Newcomer Award at the British Fantasy Awards in 2019 for Empire of Sand. Her books have also been nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards and the Locus Awards. She is a writing tutor and a contributor to various anthologies and magazines.
