Bane County is a horror/suspense/thriller series that follows the lives of the residents of a small rural town in the midst of a supernatural nightmare. The series consists of five full-length novels and a short story, each one revealing more secrets and mysteries about the dark history and legends of Bane County.
The first book, Forgotten Moon, introduces the main characters, Bryce McNeel and Jackson Campbell, two teenage cousins who live on a cattle ranch with their grandparents. When they discover a series of grisly deaths and mutilations that occurred decades earlier, they become curious and start to investigate. However, they soon realize that they have awakened a long-slumbering evil that is ready to strike again.
The second book, Returning Moon, continues the story as the town of Silver Canyon is plunged into chaos and terror by the attacks of a vicious creature that seems to be part wolf, part human, and part something else. Bryce and Jackson, along with their friends and allies, try to survive and fight back, while also uncovering more clues and secrets about the origin and nature of the beast.
The third book, First Moon, goes back in time to the year 1979, when the first outbreak of the creature occurred. The book follows the perspective of Sheriff Wade, who was a young deputy at the time, and his struggle to stop the carnage and protect the town. The book also reveals the connection between the creature and the mysterious Bane flowers that bloom only once every 19 years.
The short story, When Bane Flowers Bloom, is a 8,000-word novelette that takes place during the third book and answers many questions and reveals new mysteries spanning all the way back to the first book.
The fourth book, Hungry Moon, resumes the story in the present time, as the town faces another wave of attacks from the creature, which has grown stronger and more cunning. Bryce and Jackson, along with a new ally, a mysterious hunter named Dark Timber, try to find a way to end the curse once and for all.
The fifth and final book, Last Moon, concludes the epic saga with a thrilling and shocking finale, as the secrets of Bane County are finally revealed and the fate of the town and its inhabitants is decided.
