This page explains explicitly the various types of Packages found for Student Projects and Research Based Works. There are three packages for project and research works. These are DIY/BIY based program, Contractor based program, and the partly BIY/Contractor program.
(i) DIY/BIY Consultancy:
Do-It-Yourself/Build-It-Yourself (DIY/BIY) Consultancy is a type of program where we encourage the student(s) or researcher learn how to do and build the project themselves. We try to make things as easy as possible for our students.
In the BIY/DIY BASED PACKAGE, you gain a followings:
1. Save Cost,
2. Gain knowledge
3. This would help the student/researcher maintain a good role with the lead supervisor, also promote their reputations.
4. Do some work to gain some experience.
Smartech A.T Ltd. is consulted by the student(s) on a periodic basis to render service on project development, research works or technical support which are within their fields of services. This package is segmented into:
- Project/Research Topic Consultancy (Compulsory): This is the first stage of contact of every project or research work. Smartech would assign their technical experts to deliberate on the topic and come up with the best approach to achieve the best results. This stage would be a 24 hours technical support. We will come up with the project/research overview, the scope of the project, the deliverables and workflow.
- Design Specs Consultancy: This is where we do the project design, engineering calculations, theories and explanation behind the whole project overview. For physical computing projects/research works, this will detail the circuit diagrams, pictorial diagrams, block diagram and their explanations, the calculations, the principles used to achieve the design. All these would be explained to you in full details. Whereas for Software/Web/App Development projects, this will include the wireframe, the mockup, programming platform etc. This stage would take Smartech A.T 48 hours to teach and explain the whole stage to the project student (s) or researcher (s).
- Procurement (Compulsory): A custom order link will be generated for your project kit from our shop. You will be required to use the link if we are to proceed to the next stage. This Project kit contains a working components and modules with code snippets already uploaded by Smartech experts with your permission.
- Simulation Consultancy(Optional): This is the controlled modelling of the circuit design using a CAD software like Proteus, AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB Simulink, NI Multism etc. as an imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time. In complex projects, that the software can’t handle, we will do a physical simulation using breadboards and the project kits. As this is better than the controlled situation. This is explained to you in full details.
Please Note: this is not available for Software/App/Web development. - Source-code/Program Code Consultancy (Optional): For physical computing, this is the consultation stage where Smartech provide working source-code for the project design.
- Construction/Fabrication Consultancy (Optional): In physical computing, This stage we design, fabricate the model prototype. This may involve the home automation model, the box model, the weather station model, IoT model etc. And on successful finishing, a video would be sent to you explaining fully how it was done. We can take further questions from you after that.
In software/app/Web development, we will show you how how everything is coded, UI/UX design made in the tutorial video and take further questions from you. This is the actual building and physical modelling on a demo prototype - Technical Support (Optional): This is the technical support until the end of project/research work. This is the expert support we avail to our students or clients by taking their questions, giving them tutorials and teachings and when they request for us to give them tutorials/teachings in person, we avail ourselves to their location.
PLEASE NOTE:
(i) Smartech doesn’t handle logistics, so any cost involved/incurred by moving the project from one place to another would be paid by you.
(ii) The support as mentioned in step 8 is provided remotely and live. You are also welcome to walk into out Laboratory while your subscription elapse.
(iii) We offer the best, you just have to continually give us your feedback to ensure a frictionless goal achievement.
(iv) The estimated turn around time for this package has been calculated to be a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months. However, the student/researcher can give us
(ii) Project/Research Work Contractor:
This involves the student(s) contracting out their project works to Smartech A.T Limited to execute for them. This would mean that they may be interested in knowing the procedures of the development of the project or not. The whole project would be designed by Smartech and constructed. A tutorial video would be made to explain the principle of the project. On delivery of the project too the student, he/she can can have a further tutorial classes with our technical experts or even request for a physical visit and teachings if they wish. This Subscription plan has only two stages namely:
- Project/Research Topic Consultancy (Compulsory): This is the first stage of contact of every project or research work. Smartech would assign their technical experts to deliberate on the topic and come up with the best approach to achieve the best results. This stage would be a 24 hours technical support. We will come up with the project/research overview, the scope of the project, the deliverables and workflow.
- Design, Construction and Finishing Stage
PLEASE NOTE:
- Logistics and delivery are to be determined by the student(s).
- Smartech A.T Ltd. will not be liable for any damages or repair of damages caused by student or any other person after a confirmed delivery of a successful project by the student(s).
- Smartech A.T Ltd. may at any time modify the methods or procedures of the project to fit components availability under a very short notice to the student.
- Smartech A.T Ltd. will not be liable for additional cost incurred as a result of change in topic or modification of any part of the project.
- This project work includes: design schematics, operation principles, and detailed technical description of components used and the finished constructed work.(software or hardware).
(iii) Partly BIY/Contractor (Optional): This is where the student or researcher may be interested in deriving one of the benefits enjoyed by any of the other aforementioned subscription plan. Smartech can allow this if the student agrees to pay for that stage/segment cost. For example:
A student who is on Contractor plan may want to get his project kit to show his supervisor. At this point, Smartech can give him/her a link to order the same project kit.
Again, a student who is on BIY may want Smartech to integrate his fabricated model for him/her, the student/researcher would have to pay the same amount for the contractor based plan of such project/research work.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Please ensure that there is a video call made to you either via Skype, Zoom meeting, Google meet, WhatsApp video call or telegram video call and you live test your project, be satisfied that it is working before it is packaged and delivered to you. This is applicable to all packages mentioned above.
- On successful finishing of any project, Smartech A.T can only store the project in her lab/warehouse for a period of one (1) week. After this period, each day attracts a demurrage sum of five hundred Naira only (#500).
Project Report (write-up) Section:
- Smartech A.T Ltd. Doesn’t give project report write-ups as part of the project deliverables in the case of physical computing projects as well as software based projects/researches.
- However, Paper works are usually done by a third party and student(s) are required to pay for the scribe’s services either through Smartech or directly to the third party. If the former, Smartech A.T Ltd. will play a regulatory role between the student and the scribe, to ensure disputes are resolved should there be any. A commission levy would be charged on this service.
The cost of report writing is #45,000 in all. Chapter 1 and 2 take like 2 weeks. Smartech will give you 1 week for each chapter to proofread and give them feedback. Technical chapter 3 and 4 would take 3 weeks because it depends on your stage in the actual project design. You can’t get the technical chapter 3 and 4 unless you get your project kit.
- It is advised to ensure a good healthy sync of communication between the writers and student. This is important since we can only allow one week for review of each work on any chapter submitted. This means that if a student/researcher takes more than one week to give us feedback, we would assume and conclude that the job was done satisfactorily. Always, ensure you give us a feedback before one week elapse after submission to you.
