Pack Challenge is a paranormal romance novel by Shelly Laurenston that introduces the Magnus Pack, a group of shapeshifters who live on the edge of danger and passion. The book follows the story of Sara Morrighan, a woman who survived a brutal animal attack that left her scarred and orphaned, and Zach Sheridan, the alpha male of the pack who claims her as his mate. But their relationship is not easy, as they have to face an old enemy, a rival pack, and Sara’s own insecurities.
The book is a fast-paced and fun read that combines humor, action, and steamy romance. The characters are well-developed and likable, especially Sara, who is a strong and sassy heroine who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Zach is a sexy and protective hero who respects Sara’s independence and challenges her to embrace her inner wolf. The secondary characters, such as Sara’s crazy friends Miki and Angie, and Zach’s loyal pack members, add more spice and entertainment to the story.
The book has received mostly positive reviews from readers who enjoyed the witty dialogue, the hot chemistry, and the thrilling plot. Some of the reviewers praised the author’s skill in creating a vivid and engaging world of shapeshifters, and making them laugh out loud with her hilarious scenes and snarky comments. Some of the reviewers also appreciated the book’s balance of romance and action, and the satisfying ending that wrapped up the story nicely.
However, some of the reviewers also expressed some criticism of the book, such as the excessive use of profanity, the lack of depth and originality, and the annoying behavior of some of the characters. Some of the reviewers felt that the book was too crude, violent, and predictable, and that some of the characters were too immature, irrational, and psychotic. Some of the reviewers also wished that the book had more backstory, explanation, and development of the shapeshifter lore and culture.
Overall, Pack Challenge is a book that appeals to fans of paranormal romance who are looking for a light and fun read that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The book is the first in a trilogy that follows the adventures of the Magnus Pack, and sets the stage for more exciting and hilarious stories to come.
