Legend of Witchtrot Road is the third book in the Spirit Guide series by E.J. Stevens, a bestselling and award-winning author of urban fantasy, paranormal, and horror novels. The book follows the adventures of Yuki and her friends, who have paranormal gifts that allow them to see and communicate with ghosts, witches, and werewolves. The book is a blend of fantasy, mystery, romance, and humor, with a dash of high school drama.
The story begins with the aftermath of the night of Samhain, a pagan festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark half of the year. On that night, Yuki and her friends faced agitated ghosts, irritated witches, and angry werewolves, and barely survived. But their troubles are far from over, as they have to deal with the consequences of their actions and the secrets they uncovered.
One of the main conflicts in the book is the mystery of Dylan Jacobs’ death, a Wakefield High student who was killed in a car accident on Witchtrot Road, a haunted and cursed road that is rumored to be the site of witch trials and executions. The J-Team, a group of bullies who are Yuki’s arch nemesis, blame Yuki for Dylan’s death, claiming that she is a witch who cursed him. They turn the entire football team against her, and threaten to expose her and her friends’ paranormal abilities. Yuki has to find out the truth behind Dylan’s death, and the legend of Witchtrot Road, before things turn violent.
Another conflict in the book is the personal and emotional struggles of Yuki and her friends, who have to cope with their paranormal gifts and their relationships. Emma, Yuki’s best friend and a healer, is acting distant and sick, and Yuki worries about her health and happiness. Calvin, Yuki’s boyfriend and the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, is trying to be a good leader and a good partner, but faces challenges from a fiery, young werewolf who seeks revenge for his father’s death. Simon, Calvin’s second in command and a roguish playboy, is forced to face his dark, emotional past, and his feelings for a certain witch. Yuki herself is trying to balance her schoolwork, her love life, and her role as a spirit guide, while dealing with the ghosts that haunt her dreams and her reality.
The book is a fast-paced and entertaining read, with witty dialogue, quirky characters, and a captivating plot. The author does a great job of creating a vivid and immersive world, where the supernatural and the mundane coexist. The book also explores themes such as friendship, loyalty, trust, courage, and love, and how they are tested and strengthened by the challenges and dangers that the characters face. The book is suitable for young adult and adult readers who enjoy paranormal, fantasy, and mystery genres.
