Forbidden Contract with a DEMON is a Korean webtoon written and illustrated by YLAB. It tells the story of a young woman named Hwayoung, who makes a forbidden contract with a demon in order to save her dying grandmother.
Hwayoung is a kind and compassionate girl, but she has always been unlucky. When her grandmother is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Hwayoung is desperate to find a way to save her. She hears rumors about a demon who can grant any wish, but she knows that making a deal with it would be dangerous.
Despite the risks, Hwayoung summons the demon and makes a contract with it. In exchange for her grandmother’s life, Hwayoung must agree to give the demon her soul in one year’s time.
The demon keeps its promise, and Hwayoung’s grandmother is miraculously cured. But Hwayoung knows that she has only one year left to live, and she is terrified of what will happen to her soul after that.
As the one-year deadline approaches, Hwayoung begins to see the demon more and more often. It tries to tempt her to break the contract and stay with it, but Hwayoung refuses. She knows that she cannot go back on her word, even if it means giving up her soul.
On the day of the deadline, the demon comes to collect Hwayoung’s soul. But before it can take her, Hwayoung is saved by a mysterious man named Iblis. Iblis is a powerful demon hunter, and he has come to Hwayoung’s aid because he sees that she has a good heart.
Iblis tells Hwayoung that there is a way to break her contract with the demon, but it will be dangerous. He must take her to the demon realm and confront the demon king himself.
