Black Noise is a 2023 sci-fi thriller directed by Philippe Martinez and starring Alex Pettyfer, Jackson Rathbone, and Sadie Newman. The movie follows an elite team of security contractors who are hired to rescue a VIP from an exclusive island estate. However, when they arrive, they find the island deserted, except for some masked gunmen and a mysterious siren sound that drives them insane.
The VIP is Laura Hamilton, the widow of a tech billionaire who was assassinated a year ago. She fled to the island of Esperanca, a hidden paradise for the rich and powerful, and activated her emergency beacon for unknown reasons. The security team, led by Ryan (Wayne Gordon), finds her hiding in a bathroom, bleeding from her ears and talking gibberish. She says that the light took everyone on the island.
Before they can escape, Hamilton is shot by a sniper and the team is attacked by the masked gunmen. They soon realize that the siren sound is not only affecting their hearing, but also their minds. They start to see hallucinations of their past traumas and fears, and some of them commit suicide or turn on each other. The sound also seems to be connected to a sinister presence that lurks on the island, a creature that can manipulate light and shadows.
The movie is a tense and action-packed survival horror that explores the themes of isolation, paranoia, and madness. It also raises questions about the nature of the creature and its motives, and the secrets of the island and its inhabitants. The movie has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, with some praising its atmosphere and performances, and others criticizing its plot and logic.
